All of our flexible liquid nitrogen hosesare made of 316 Stainless steel. come in a standard 1/2" nominal pipe thread with 1/2" Female JIC Swivel fittings. This is the type of fitting that will attach directly to almost any liquid nitrogen cylinder or other liquid nitrogen dispenser. Most liquid nitrogen storage cylinders use CGA 295 (1/2" Flare" fittings.
When dealing with any liquid nitrogen piping system, one must account for heat leak into the system and cooldown losses. Regardless of whether using VJ or non-VJ hoses, there will be a 15+ liter cool down loss per about 6 feet of hose. After initial cool down losses, static heat leak then comes into play and the choice between VJ and non VJ cryogenic hoses becomes critical.
Non-VJ cryogenic transfer hose manufacturers truly are a dime a dozen, but we only stock the highest quality non-vj hoses from companies with proven track records. We also stock Techflex™ vacuum insulated hoses from Technifab Products.
Vacuum Jacketed transfer hoses offer improved safety and cost savings over non-insulated hoses by eliminating frosty and dripping conditions as well as extrodinarily low heat leak into the liquid nitrogen transfer system over longer periods of time.
Techflex™ hoses are designed and manufactured for long-term, maintenance-free use for the transfer of liquid cryogens. Even with -452°F liquid helium flowing through the hose, the outer surface remains safe to touch with bare hands.
Technifab Techflex™ vacuum jacketed hoses facilitate the transfer of cryogenic fluids with minimal loss of the cryogen due to evaporation from heat transfer. These vacuum insulated hoses are used in laboratories, food and pharmaceutical processing facilities, with medical equipment and in a wide variety of industrial applications.
